Hola, Reader!!!!!
Today I will be telling you about the baking we are doing. A few weeks ago we had to write about our favorite dish and put it on our blog, and Whaea Lorrainde said to us that she wanted to do some baking. She said we were going to bake last week, but there were some people who weren’t doing the right thing and weren’t listening. We had 3 fingers, and every time someone would talk over Whaea Lorraine or someone’s attitude wasn’t right, we couldn’t go make it anymore. Once we got to 0, everyone was upset, and everyone was sad and angry because we couldn’t go bake the Weet-Bix slices. Whaea Lorraine said to us we were going to go back next week on Tuesday, and it is the next week after last week, and it is Tuesday.
This morning after we had our karakia with room Ten, Whaea Lorraine was telling us what we will be doing today. The first thing we had to do this morning was to do our work until 10:00. Around 9 we had to go to the mobile library bus and get a new book to read for the rest of this week and when we come back from the 2-week holiday. Which we got back to class where Lorraine was telling us we have 20 minutes to do any work that isn’t done, and at 10:00 we had to stop and clean up to make the Weet-Bix slices.
After that we had to get into a group of five, and in my group I had 3 year 7s and 2 year 8s. and everyone had to put part into the making part. We had to put all the ingredients into a big bag because we didn’t have any bowls, and it’s faster if you use a big bag . In my group I had Pita, Veni, Bella, and Trinity, and lastly me.
Everyone had to put part into making the Weet-Bix slices. The first step was to put 4 Weet-Bix into the bag, then after that you will have to put one cup of flour, then 1 and a cup of white sugar, then one tablespoon of cocoa powder, and then after that you will have to mix everything together. Once everything is mixed, you will have to go to Whaea Lorraine and ask her for the butter, and she will give you the butter to put in the cup for it to melt. We put the butter in the microwave for one minute or until it’s melted. Once the butter is melted, we will have to wait until the butter is cool to go into the bag. Before you add the butter into the bag, you will have to put half a teaspoon of vanilla essence, then add the butter into the bag, and mix everything together.
After that we had to go to clean up the table and the mess we had made with the flour and sugar and all the other stuff, which we have done the cleaning up. We had to go eat morning tea and go play, but we had to be back when the bell rings. When we came into the classroom, we had to go on our Chromebooks and find a video of how to make a paper bag to hold 3 or 4 pieces of the Weet-Bix slices.
Here’s the video I watched to make a paper bag.
After that we had to clean our mess up while Wheae Lorraine cooked our Weetbix slices. When we were making our Weetbix slices and we were done in like 10 minutes, mostly everyone had done the same paper bag. When we were making our bag, we could smell the Weet-Bix slices. The whole hall was smelling like Weet-Bix slices, and Whaea Lorraine said it was left in the oven for too long, and everyone was upset. But Whaea Lorraine, for next time, we will put it in the oven for 10 minutes because we put the Weet-Bix slices in the oven for 20 minutes. Whaea Lorraine forgot the icing sugar, so we couldn’t make our sugar.
But overall the baking was great, but we all have to put part into baking and mixing everything together. I think next time we will find some people who won’t fight with each other and aren’t doing the right thing. And the baking was only for P, which is for practice, but the food tasted flavorful.
